A novel that might not have been written yet... A novel than leaves a plot-twist at the tail of every chapter... A novel that takes the readers far away, beyond the boundaries of our 3-dimensional lives... A novel that spills facts and theories, while keeping the fantasy flapping its wings in our minds... And a novel that can ignite a theory as complex as the doomsday in fiction, making it an optimistic and educational read. Such is a book many want to read, and such was the case when I wrote the ‘2012 is light years away.’
With the 428 pages of reading material, the book is divided into five main contents - The introduction, the prologue, the chapters, the epilogue and finally the conclusion. As much pleased and indebted I am to readers around the world, who have read my book so far, I have now come to realize that it is time I wrote a blog-post dedicated to my book’s elements alone. Also in reply to all the emails I received on my author’s ID in these past months, I have decided to pen down a briefly elaborated post, explaining the facts, theories, and history mentioned in the book, WITHOUT making it a spoiler for those yet to read it.
Prologue

The French Invasion: In the prologue, the story-line starts with the French expedition and invasion of Egypt in the year 1778. But did you know it is a factual history that the French had invaded Egypt lands in the late 1700s, secretly excavating and discovering the tombs? Even the great Napoleon Bonaparte of France had ordered a campaign to invade Egypt, in which he included many scientists and alchemists along with the soldiers, secretly.
The Siege of Pondicherry: The British siege against the French in Pondicherry, India, was a real combat event in 1778, which was plotted to defeat the French capital in India (Pondicherry) and was said to have triggered due to the French’s choice to help the Americans in the American Revolution war.

American Revolution: The American War of Independence, which runs through the story-line in the book, was a factual warfare event active from 1775 to 1783, a prominent revolutionary event in the history of the United States and also the world. This was a real war between the British and the united colonies of North America, which later involved the French, Dutch and also Spanish. It is believed that during this event, many British troops discovered unknown Native American tribes and ancient lands like the Mayan and Aztec ruins.

Ankh Symbol: In the early chapters of the book, a strange symbol is portrayed and is recurred throughout the story plot. This is a real ancient Egyptian symbol denoting immortality, according to Egyptian mythology. This symbol is found carved on most of the tombs discovered in Egypt even today, which they believe is the sign of the afterlife.
Chons and Thoth: In the story, the main characters are believed to be Chons and Thoth, the two ancient angels mentioned in the prophecy. Did you know Chons and Thoth were the actual names of the two ancient Egyptian Gods? Chons was believed to be the God of ‘Time’ and ‘knowledge’ whereas Thoth was believed to be the God of ‘Script’ and ‘language.’
Shadows: The book’s plot is ribbed on a backbone called the Shadows, which are three different mysterious structures, constructed in bizarre locations, surrounded by eerie ambiances. The 'Shadows' in the story consist of secret symbols and ancient hieroglyphs which reveal three shocking theories, directly related to the year 2012 or the so-called doomsday. These theories, which are also supported by current scientific data, make the readers ponder possibilities which they may have not contemplated before.
First Shadow: In the story, the first Shadow talks about the barycentre between the sun and the Earth, and also other planets in our solar system. This barycentre theory somehow proves (don’t want to explain further and make it a spoiler) that not only does the Earth revolve the sun, but the sun revolve the Earth too. Did you know this is a real scientific fact, accepted by the engineers and scientists at NASA?
Second Shadow: The second shadow, on the other hand, talks about the actual origin of our solar system and our planet Earth. This somehow (spoiler breach) scarily proves that we are aliens to the Milky Way galaxy, which we have been comfortably thinking is our home-galaxy since childhood and throughout history. This again is a shocking possible discovery that scientists are still debating about. In fact, this may answer the question – Why is our Sun, Earth and other neighbour planets not compatible with the Milky Way?
Third Shadow: As the story further progresses the third Shadow leaps a step above, beyond the common imagination of humans to prove an astounding theory about ‘Time’ in the universe. This theory wildly proves (spoiler breach) that our time on Earth may or may not be as same as time in other parts of the space and universe. And although this sounds like a package out, from a splendid science-fiction movie, did you know the ‘Theory of Relativity’ by none other than Albert Einstein himself fairly proves this? Also, Stephen Hawking, our ‘present-day Einstein’ too have theorised in his book ‘A brief history of time’ that if a ‘Big Crunch’ occurred in the universe in retaliation to the well-known ‘Big Bang,’ there is a possibility of ‘Time’ running backward in space.
Alexander the Great: Alexander III of Macedon, one of the greatest military leaders of all time, stamped the word ‘Great’ to his name after defeating the Persian empire and conquering the largest part of the ancient world, stretching all the way to India. This historic icon plays an important role in my novel. In fact, his life achievements and life secrets are also mentioned in the book, playing along the fiction story-line. But did you know that Alexander’s death is as mysterious as his buried tomb? Just walk to any famous archaeologist in the world today and ask him – “Where is Alexander the Great’s real tomb?” and you will instantly be pushed into a series of mysteries, later ending with ‘Ifs’ and ‘Maybes.’ In other words, there is not a known soul in this world who actually knows for sure where Alexander’s remains rest. There is a worldwide assumption, misconception however that it resides in Alexandria Egypt, which is named after him. But no one has a fair percentage of evidence. Even in recent times, many hoax and fake mongers have claimed and are still claiming to have discovered his tomb, in the hopes of making breaking news. Some also say, Alexander himself asked his burial to be a lost secret, which would, in turn, make people believe that he is the ‘son of God’ and therefore has acquired immortality.
Evolution: Evolution is defined as the biological transformation of any given species from its preceding state to the proceeding state over a higher period of time. In the later chapters of the book, the main character Gowtham encounters some unknown, highly-evolved species, which in turn enlightens him about some astonishing concept about the future world, beyond the year 2012. These evolved species are described in the book as having unusual biological features that might sound unrealistic to the present human population. But did you know according to the future-human-evolution theory by scientists, humans are likely to experience extreme body transformation in the far future, like – unusually big skulls, bald hair-less scalps for both men and women, without eyebrows or facial hair, slim bodies without much curves, missing earlobes and also longer fingers. This I am guessing could be blamed on technologies such as touch-screen iPhones or tablet pcs, because they put only our fingers at work, while the body rests. But this evolution is a very, very long process. This is predicted to take 10 to 20 thousand years.
Dimensional worlds: In the book, the character Gowtham is revealed about the 3-dimensional world we live in and also higher dimensions like the 4-dimensional world. A particular revelation (spoiler breach) shocks him that the universe consists of not just 3 or 4 dimensions, but up to 10-dimensional worlds. The more complex this theory sounds, the simpler it is if one had to look at it spiritually, or into religious books. Did you know that in most of the known religious books in this world, including the holy book of Islam, the holy books of the Hindus and also the books of Christianity, it has been so clearly mentioned about the different layers of the worlds and dimensions, where one usually defines it spiritually? Even the blockbuster English movie ‘Inception’ was said to have been inspired by this very dimensional worlds, where one incepts an ‘idea’ into the human’s brain with a dream, within a dream, within a dream.
Epilogue

Ancient paintings and its secrets: In the epilogue, a scenario is set in the current year 2012, where the course of events brings the readers to the revelation that many ancient paintings have a secret message to tell. I have mentioned a few real historic paintings, with some bizarre UFO-like objects, painted by the artist, which is usually associated with spirituality. But did you know that UFO researchers around the world have found out that many spiritually portrayed objects in these paintings are nothing but an early witness of UFOs? It has also recently recorded a peak in UFO sightings from 2005 to 2012, which some deem is the spiritual revelation that they believe might happen on doomsday. In other words, some believe that the ‘doomsday’ or the ‘end-of-the-world’ could simply be nothing but a realization of some great truth, therefore leading to the END of our old ways and thoughts, and nothing to do with the destruction of our planet.

And finally, I cannot finish without mentioning the fashion-history I have researched and mentioned in the book too. Being a fashion-enthuse and coming from a retail-fashion career, I have mentioned an abundance of real historic clothing in the book, like the famous red-coat uniform the British musketeers wore or the Sepoy turban the character Swami wore. All in all, it is one book that I as a reader always wanted to read. – Girish Rathna
